Thirteen Lower Sixth students visited Cathedral View Care Home in Truro to spread some Christmas cheer, with music and festive treats. The event, organised by Sixth Formers Lilly and Pippa, saw the group visit to sing Christmas carols and favourites, with George on the Saxophone and Lise accompanying on the keyboard.
The evening before, the group, along with Leith’s Diploma students, had taken over Truro School Cookery to bake mince pies and Cornish Fairings to deliver to residents. Under the supervision of Mrs Thies, the group decorated the biscuits with chocolate and added festive stars onto their mince pies, ready to hand out to the delighted residents.
It was a truly magical morning at Cathedral View, with smiles from pupils, staff and residents alike. Many of the residents got up to dance and sway along to the music as they sang along to festive classics.
We are incredibly grateful to the staff at Cathedral View for their warm welcome. All of our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the chance to spread some glad tidings at this time of year.
