1st Year pupils have taken part in an ‘Autism Peer Awareness’ session delivered by Victoria Kemp-Stubbings from the ‘Autism in Schools’ Team at Cornwall Council.
Each Form group participated individually in the session, which combined auditory and visual learning with role play and interactive activities.
Designed to educate pupils on diversity and the broader umbrella of neurodiversity, the session explored how different types of brains work and how neurodivergent individuals may experience the world differently.
Pupils were challenged to consider: What would the world be like if we all liked the same thing? — emphasising the idea that society thrives when there is a wide range of perspectives and ways of thinking.
The sessions were supported by Mrs Ward and our in-house Learning Support team.
