Pupils from across the Senior and Prep School have been celebrating Advent.
Rev Helen has been leading a series of assemblies, the thought, ‘Some gifts keep on giving. Where will you find the joy?’
This week’s assembly focused on Mary, as pupils lit the 2nd candle of Advent that represents joy. On stage, a large Advent calendar, which volunteers were invited to open, asked them to consider a gift you can put under the tree versus a gift that you cannot. Prompting the children to consider gifts that are not materialistic, but spread happiness and kindness. The service ended with the Rev asking, “What are you going to write on your Christmas list this year? What will give you the most joy?”
Over at the Prep, Years 3-5 have been making ‘Chrimson’ decoration in DT. They have been screen printing the designs with Mrs Knight, before heading to English to write messages of goodwill on them with Mrs Cadd.
Pupils who have completed their baubles, shared them with the school in an assembly led by Rev Helen. Once all years have theirs, they will be hung on the newly decorated Christmas trees, colour-coordinated to each house.
