A Warm Welcome to our New Starters

We were delighted to welcome a host of new starters to Truro School today for their induction day. The day is the final piece of a lengthy and carefully constructed induction programme that strives to ensure all of our new pupils and students, from Year 7 through to Sixth Form, settle in to life at Truro School with a flying start.

Having previously familiarised themselves at various open days, taster days and sports clubs, our new Year 7 pupils started their induction day off with a chapel assembly led by Mr Johnson. They were then introduced to Head of Year 7, Mrs Vaughan and to their form teachers, who will form the backbone of their pastoral and academic support as the year progresses.

Meanwhile, Year 7 parents gathered in the Dining Room for chats over pastries and coffees in what was a welcoming hub of smiles and shared information.

For pupils, the rest of the day was an exciting blur of orienteering and team building, alongside inductions into the gym and the school’s IT system. It was wonderful to see old friendships rekindled after the summer and new faces being quickly welcomed into friendship groups as the day progressed.

New pupils and students in Years 8 to 11 were also officially welcomed into the Truro School community today for a tour and induction with their form tutors.

Our new boarders have been settling into school life since Monday, with their houseparents and existing boarders on hand to help them with mealtimes, schedules and navigating our extensive campus and facilities.

Tomorrow, our new pupils will integrate with the full community across both sites as we welcome back all year groups to Truro School. We wish everyone a purposeful and happy start to the new year.
