A ‘Taste’ of France for Year 5

Our Year 5 pupils travelled up to the Senior School this week to get a ‘taste’ of France as a part of their Modern Foreign Language (MFL) classes.

Led by Mrs Fergusson-Cooper, each of our three Year 5 classes take it in turns to visit Truro School Cookery and create a dish themed around the language they are studying this term. MFL in Year 5 is taught as a carousel, so pupils can experience French, Spanish and German across the year.

These sessions are designed to bring their learning to life, and our French étudiants cooked up some delicious crepes, fit for a Parisian Bistro. It is also a fantastic chance for our pupils to familiarise themselves with the fantastic facilities at the Senior School as they tentatively look towards starting Senior life in Year 7.

With Apfelstrudel and magdelenas to come next half term, we are extremely proud of the confidence and courage our language students show, both in class and in the kitchen.
