Our 2nd Year Geographers recently visited Gwithian Towans to deepen their understanding of coastal processes through hands-on fieldwork.
During the trip, pupils collected data on wave activity, measured beach profiles using ranging poles and clinometers, investigated evidence of longshore drift, conducted sediment sorting, and created detailed field sketches.
This hands-on experience helps to provide them with valuable practical skills in data collection.
Head of Geography, Mrs Wormald shared, “We’re incredibly fortunate to take the entire cohort on this field trip. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build both knowledge and practical fieldwork skills, while also creating memorable learning experiences.”
A special thank you to Miss Mayne, Miss Overend, Mr Mill, and Nurse Acosta for their invaluable support throughout the excursion.
