Year 6 Pupil Harry Makes Waves for Ocean Conservation

Year 6 pupil Harry has been making a big splash across Cornwall after his creative charity project captured the headlines across Cornwall.

Harry has combined his love of drawing with his passion for the sea by creating and selling his own handmade greeting cards to raise money for ocean conservation. Featuring beautifully hand-drawn and painted illustrations of local marine life, including spider crabs, lobsters and tropical fish, Harry’s cards celebrate Cornwall’s coastal environment while supporting an important cause.

Harry sells his cards at a beach shop in nearby Crantock, with all proceeds going to the Marine Conservation Society, a charity dedicated to protecting the UK’s seas and marine wildlife. Thanks to his dedication and creativity, Harry has already raised over £1,000; an impressive achievement that reflects his hard work.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed. Along with interviews with the BBC (to name but a few), Harry has received messages of encouragement from supporters across the country, including Sir David Attenborough, whose words of praise have further inspired him to continue his work for the oceans.

Harry’s fantastic story demonstrates perfectly how young people can make a meaningful difference through creativity, compassion and determination, and is a powerful reminder that even small ideas can have a big impact.
