Public Schools’ Fencing Championships

Congratulations to our Truro School fencers who have achieved a considerable haul of individual accolades at this year’s Public Schools’ Fencing Championships.

The Public Schools’ Fencing Championships is by far the largest fencing competition in the country, and is arguably the largest youth fencing event in the whole of Europe. The annual 3-day fencing competition for children aged 11-18 is hosted at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre, London.

Lower Sixth boarder Sam H took 1st place and was crowned Boys’ Senior Sabre champion, with Paul D taking 5th position. In the Boys’ Junior Sabre, Chris L took 6th place as did Sarang S in the Boys’ Maunt-Hayes Sabre.

The girls also put on a fantastic performance with Lexie C taking the bronze medal in the Girls’ Senior Sabre and Aimee coming in 10th place.

The students and staff have been working exceptionally hard this year and their efforts and courage have been shown in the excellent results they have achieved this year. Well done everyone.
