Lotte from Germany

"I really like the support we get from our teachers inside and outside of our lessons. I think they try their best to help as much as they can. In some subjects, we also do a lot of trips, so it's not just about learning from books all the time but also about learning from life.

I recommend boarding in Truro School because you form lifelong friendships, and I think everyone will have a great time here."

Hi, I’m Lotte from Berlin.

I am in Lower Sixth and have been at Truro School for about six months, but at the end of this school year, I will return to Germany and continue my A-levels there. This year is just a gap year for me to learn English and try something new. And it is definitely something new! After living in Germany my whole life, this is like a big adventure and I’ve already had so many new experiences that I would never have had if I hadn’t decided to come here.

I chose to come to Truro School because my dad went here 33 years ago, so when I decided to go to boarding school, I thought why not Truro School? And it was undoubtedly the right decision for me.

My favourite thing about boarding at Truro School is that it never gets boring. I live in a big house with all MY friends, and there’s always someone around, you just get so close with everyone so quickly. There are also so many new things to try, especially the weekend boarders activities, including surfing, paintballing or painting our own shoes.

There are also loads of after-school clubs that you can choose from. I, for example play hockey, but besides sports, there are also a lot of art or music clubs to join, so there is really something for everyone.

I also really like the support we get from our teachers inside and outside of our lessons. I think they try their best to help us as much as possible. In some subjects, we also do a lot of trips so it’s not just about learning from books all the time but also about learning from life.

So I really recommend boarding in Truro School because you form friendships for life and I think everyone will have great time here.
