Community

At Truro School, community lies at the heart of everything we do.

Guided by our Methodist ethos, we strive to be a positive force, not only for our pupils, but for Cornwall and beyond. Our community work is rooted in connection, compassion, and purpose: sharing our facilities, supporting local initiatives, and nurturing a culture of sustainability and service.

Through Truro School Enterprises, we are proud to make our exceptional facilities available to the wider community. These spaces provide opportunities for sport, creativity, learning, and celebration, enriching life across the region.

Our Partnerships and Community Engagement (PACE) programme deepens these connections, building relationships with local schools, charities, and organisations to create lasting social impact. Whether through volunteering, outreach, or shared events, we aim to open our doors and extend opportunity to all.

Environmental responsibility also underpins our vision. Through our Sustainability initiatives, pupils from Nursery to Sixth Form are empowered to take meaningful action, from leading Eco-Schools projects and achieving national recognition to advancing our goal of becoming Net-Zero.

The Truro School Identity

Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
