2026 Gold DofE Award Celebrations

Congratulations to all of our students who completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award this year.

As part of the Gold Award celebrations, all participants are invited to attend a special event at a Royal residence, with the main event being held at Buckingham Palace. This occasion, hosted by members of the Royal Family, brings together thousands of young people from across the UK in the Palace gardens for a memorable, festival-style event featuring speeches, activities and the opportunity to meet fellow award holders and inspiring guests.

The Gold Award requires sustained commitment over a minimum of 12 months. It includes the additional Residential section, designed to challenge young people to step beyond their comfort zones, spend time away from home, and build connections with new people. It is a demanding and rewarding journey that develops resilience, independence, and confidence in equal measure.

At Truro School, Outdoor Pursuits play a central role in our offering, and achievements such as these reflect the strength and breadth of opportunities available to our pupils and students. As one of the leading providers of Outdoor Pursuits in the South West, we are proud to support and inspire our pupils to embrace challenge, develop lifelong skills, and foster a spirit of adventure.

The resilience, dedication, and determination shown by every student throughout their Gold DofE journey have been truly inspiring. Whether or not you were able to attend the celebrations at Buckingham Palace this week, this is an exceptional achievement of which you should be immensely proud. Well done to every one of you.
