With so much to learn and discover, our Pre-Prep pupils have been showing great confidence in school this week.
In Nursery, some of us have been making 2D rockets. We have explored what the shapes are called and practised our cutting skills by cutting out each shape. We all enjoyed hearing a new story with Mrs Banks and using the props we had found in her magic box.
Our September Reception starters have started their phonics this week. We have started learning m, a and s sounds.
This week, our Reception classes have been learning about different household machines and how they help make jobs easier. We have all had a go at making apple and orange juice using juicers, and we have even had a visit from a robot hoover. In maths, we have been filling 10-frames with counters and trying to recognise the different amounts in them.
This week in literacy, Year 1 has been using time connectives and ‘bossy’ verbs to help us write our own made-up recipes. In PE this week, we have been practising our balancing. We have had a go at balancing in different ways and helping our friends by making sure they are in the right positions.
This week in literacy, Year 2 pupils have created their own alien characters, and we are using them to create alien poems. In maths, we are exploring fact families and using our number bonds to 10 to solve larger sums, as well as learning all about the mass of objects.
