With more than 120 teachers, full time and part time, we are always on the lookout for candidates who are passionate about education and are dedicated to shaping the future of young minds to join our vibrant community. School Nurse

15 hours per week / Permanent / Term Time Only
Salary: £11,413 per annum (FTE £38,939 pa)
Start Date: October 2026

Truro School is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Nurse to provide a high-quality, clinically effective health service for our pupils. The successful candidate will deliver healthcare, first aid, safeguarding support, health education, and pastoral care, whilst overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Medical Centre. They will work closely with boarding houses, parents, school leaders, and external healthcare providers to promote pupil wellbeing and ensure the highest standards of care.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified nurse who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive impact within a vibrant and supportive school community.

The successful candidates will be working 15 hours a week, Mondays and Tuesdays 8:30am – 5:00pm and will be based at our Senior site.

Chef de Partie

Part-time / Permanent / Term time only
Hours: 27.5 hours per week, 7am – 12:30pm
Starting Salary: £14,510 per annum (FTE £27,000pa).

We are seeking an experienced, hardworking, customer focused, friendly team player to join our Catering team. This important role is responsible for the preparation of food which feeds approximately 700 students and 250 staff each day plus our boarders during term time.

Our desired candidate must be able to work to tight service deadlines and be able to offer first class meal experience.

Catering Assistant (Prep)

20 hours per week / Permanent / Term Time Only
Salary: £10,250 per annum (FTE salary of £26,228per annum)
Start Date: October 2026

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our friendly Catering Team. This hands-on role involves supporting the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, helping with food service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, washing kitchen equipment, and assisting with the preparation and serving of meals.

No formal chef qualifications or previous cooking experience are required, as full training will be provided. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a flexible approach, and a willingness to work as part of a busy and supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community and contribute to providing high-quality meals for pupils and staff. The successful candidates will be working 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 2:00pm -6:00pm, and will be based at our Prep site.

Cookery School Technician

22 hours per week / Permanent / Term Time Only
Salary: £11,275 per annum (fte salary £26,482 pa)
Start Date: October 2026

Truro School is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and passionate Cookery Technician to join our Cookery Department. The department is a busy environment, and this role will provide practical and operational support to assist with the delivery of academic and commercial cookery to students, staff and visitors.

The hours in this role are 22 hours per week, term-time only:
Monday 8:00am – 1:30pm
Tuesday – Thursday 9:00am – 2:30pm

The successful candidate will be responsible for stock control and rotation, plan and procure ingredients, and trial new recipes for external courses, co-curricular clubs and special events.

Swim Teacher (Prep School)

3.5 hours per week / Permanent / Term Time Only
Salary: £2,963 per annum (FTE £43,323 pa)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Swim Teacher to join our team at Truro School Prep. Working with children aged 3 to 11 years, you will deliver high-quality, engaging swimming lessons as part of our established school swim programme.

The successful candidate will be passionate about helping children develop confidence, competence and enjoyment in the water, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and safeguarding.

The successful candidates will be working 3.5 hours a week, term-time only on Wednesdays for the following swim classes:
Wednesday 7:00am – 8:00am, 1:30pm – 3:00pm and 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Governor

Position: Voluntary

Truro School is seeking to recruit two new Governors who are interested in applying their skills and/or experience within a rewarding voluntary role, helping to shape our young people’s future.

The Board of Governors works closely with the Head and Senior Leadership Team and acts as a “critical friend”, providing challenge and support in equal measure. Our Governors have integrity, strong personal and professional values and a willingness to challenge and ask questions along with an understanding of the needs of the business and an appreciation of the methodist ethos of the School. You will be supporting the delivery of educational excellence and be responsible for ensuring the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.

We welcome interest from anyone who feels they have the right skills or experience to contribute to the work of the Board. We are particularly keen to hear from those with a professional legal qualification and from educationalists with experience in pupil inclusion and enrichment.
