Golf is on the Rise at Truro School

Truro Pupils Driving Golf Forward

Golf is thriving at Truro School, with more pupils than ever taking up the sport and achieving impressive results. Leading the charge are Harrison, Ollie, Hunter, and Freddie, all playing off single-figure handicaps, a testament to their hard work and talent. Harrison, in particular, made a mark this summer by becoming Cornwall’s U16 Champion, triumphing against strong competition.

Close behind are players such as Jonny, Felix, Arthur, James, Sam, Nathaniel and Archie, to name a few, who are making great strides and showing real promise as they edge toward single-figures themselves. Their passion, commitment, and teamwork are helping to build a vibrant golfing culture at the school, inspiring younger pupils to take up the sport.

This term, the Truro School golf teams have faced challenging fixtures against Kings Taunton, Shebbear, and Clifton College, playing at renowned courses including Teignmouth and Bude. These matches, alongside the annual Truro School Golf Day, which brings together current and former pupils, parents, and staff, offer invaluable experience and a real sense of community.

With over 30 golf courses across Cornwall, pupils at Truro School have access to some of the finest golfing opportunities in the country. Truro School is proud to support this growing interest, nurturing both skill and a lifelong love for the game.

Whether competing, practising, or simply enjoying the sport, the future of golf at Truro looks bright.
