A week of Sporting Success

It’s been another full week of sport for our Truro School athletes both in and out of the school day.

There was double success for U12 hockey teams as both our girls’ and boys’ A teams were crowned county champions, playing in some very testing conditions. The teams will progress to the regional finals next week; we look forward to sharing how they get on.

Thirteen members of our Judo team from across the Prep and Senior School enjoyed the opportunity to enhance their skills this week at a combined coaching and training session at Kingsley School.

Outside of school, Georgia and her Duchy Dance Academy team have made it through to the Move It Shake It Nationals later this year. Well done Georgia!

Fenella recently took part in an ISFA trial in Cambridge for 3rd Year girls, where she was selected to take part in the ISFA squad and invited to attend the summer camp in August. What an achievement.

Sibling duo, Loki and Millie were selected to play for the boys’ and girls’ U18 Cornwall teams respectively last weekend. Loki, making his debut for Cornwall, travelled to Bideford and recorded a doubles victory while Millie had a singles win in Hull. Well done Loki and Millie!

Our U14 girls’ rugby team enjoyed their first tournament at Mounts Bay last week. The team spent the morning taking part in a skills carousel with the players from all the schools mixed into groups taking on passing, tackling, rucking and decision making, before an afternoon of match play.

Well done to Josh C, who was selected to represent Cornwall Cricket U15s in Sri Lanka over the half term. His team played really well winning 3 out of 5 games.

Harriet S and Gen P helped their team secure gold in the Westward League cross-country event. Despite the challenging conditions the girls showed their resilience in the field, well done girls.

Finally, we would like to wish our KS3 and KS5 squash teams the best of luck for their national plate finals, which take place in Birmingham next week. A huge good luck also to our U13 footballers, who take on Trinity School in the ISFA cup final next Tuesday. We look forward to sharing how all the teams get on.
