Careers Convention - Postponed

Pupils, students and parents from Years 9, 10 and 11 and Sixth Forms are invited to attend the event which will provide pupils and students with the opportunity to talk to professionals from a wide range of industries including engineering, medicine, accountancy, graphic design and software programming, plus many more.

Please note this event has been postponed until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.

Wednesday 18 March

This year’s Careers Convention will take place in the Assembly Hall at Truro School on Wednesday 18 March, 4.00pm – 7.00pm.

Keynote Address

Our keynote address, in the Burrell Theatre, will be delivered by Simon Haines (CO89), Founder and CEO of London firm, Simply Get Results Ltd; with 25 years of international experience advising global corporations on how to be more successful, we are delighted that he has agreed to talk about ‘The Workplace of Tomorrow’.  This invaluable session will be repeated twice to ensure all students and parents are afforded the opportunity to attend (4.00 to 4.30pm and again 6.15 – 6.45pm).

This year we have again created a dedicated area to showcase some of the major growth industries such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and those outlined in the Government’s Industrial Plan which links closely to Cornwall’s Strategic Economic Plan. These areas in particular offer some fantastic employment opportunities for graduates and school leavers, often in emerging industries.

We very much hope you will encourage your students to attend this free evening and have included a poster for you to advertise the event within your school.  We would be very grateful if you could let us know whether or not you will be encouraging your students to attend by emailing: tsa@truroschool.com
