Book Club’s Baking Bonanza

The Wednesday Book Club group showed extraordinary baking skills during the World Book Day bake-off. Each showstopping bake drew inspiration from beloved books such as ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, ‘Paddington’, ‘The Highland Falcon Thief’, ‘The Colour Of Magic’, and ‘Catching Fire’.

Mr. Johnson faced the daunting task of selecting winners from a display of highly creative cakes. He commended the bakers for translating the imaginative worlds of well-known authors into visually stunning creations, praising the meticulous detail and thoughtful design evident in each cake.

Isaac B and Finlay T secured joint second place, with Isaac’s very detailed bake inspired by ‘The Draw of the Sea’ written by local author Wyl Menmuir and Finlay’s Asterix-inspired creation featuring a model obelix and an entire army of feet.

Isaac B’s winning piñata cake was inspired by the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It featured a chocolate river and lollipop trees, which all judges felt reflected the book’s unmistakable style.

Mr Johnson congratulated all participants on their dedication, creativity, and extraordinary baking skills and awarded them merits for their efforts.

The Book Club, mainly aimed at 1st and 2nd Years, meets every Wednesday lunchtime in the library.
