Year 10 Careers Day 2026

Our Year 10 pupils took part in our annual Careers Day, enjoying a varied and engaging programme designed to broaden their understanding of the many pathways available after GCSEs and beyond.

Throughout the day, pupils rotated through five carefully planned activities, each offering valuable insight into different aspects of future decision-making. These included Morrisby testing, sessions on university pathways, apprenticeships and alternative qualifications, employability skills, and a tutor-led workshop focusing on researching careers and identifying personal work values.

A key element of the day was the Morrisby assessment. This psychometric test helps pupils identify their individual strengths, skills and interests, providing tailored guidance to support future subject choices and potential career pathways. The process encourages pupils to reflect more deeply on where their abilities and aspirations may align.

In addition, sessions such as ‘Going to University’, ‘Researching Careers’, ‘Apprenticeships and Alternative Qualifications’, and ‘Employability Skills’ offered practical advice and real-world context. Pupils were encouraged to think not only about possible career routes but also about what job satisfaction means to them personally and the values they wish to prioritise in their future working lives.

The day was both informative and thought-provoking, allowing pupils to explore a wide range of options to make more informed and confident decisions about their futures.

A sincere thank you goes to Mrs Kenward for organising such a valuable and inspiring event, and to all the staff who contributed to the sessions. Well done to all of our Year 10 pupils for their enthusiastic engagement throughout the day.
