What a busy week it has been in Truro School Pre-Prep!
Making the most of the frosty starts, our Nursery children have been outside exploring the frost and the crunching sound it makes underfoot. The children found lots of amazing things, including a bumble bee and plenty of frost-covered pinecones. The pupils have been exploring their new topic, Land of the Giant Animals. They have been discussing what the word giant means and what animals we consider giant.
To celebrate Shrove Tuesday, our Reception children have been reading a story about the runaway pancake before writing a sentence about the perfect pancake. To mark St Piran’s Day, pupils made flags and practised writing the letter ‘P’.
Year 1 has been learning how to divide words into syllables to help with spelling. In Science, the children have been conducting experiments to investigate how birds’ beaks are adapted to their diet.
Year 2 has been turning a mirror-imaged signature into an alien design in art, while in topic, pupils have been learning all about different inventors and their amazing inventions.
All of our pupils have been making the most of our wonderful outdoor spaces and enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine.
