Knee-deep in furry fabrics, our WAA soft toy pupils have been busy pattern-cutting and tacking together their animal creations. Mrs Havis, a self-taught seamstress, started this term’s WAA to allow 1st-3rd Year pupils the opportunity to learn how to read and follow a basic sewing pattern and develop some useful hand-sewing skills. After cutting out their fabrics, they have been pinning and basting together their pattern pieces.
From rabbits and dogs to teddies and dragons, pupils have selected their designs and brought in their own pre-loved fabrics from home to bring their creations to life. We look forward to seeing their completed cuddly creations towards the end of next term.
