Tupperware, Teamwork and Problem Solving in Taskmaster Club

Year 7 pupils tackled a tricky measurement challenge in this week’s STEM Taskmaster Club. The club runs every Thursday and is led by chemistry teacher and Year 7 tutor Mrs Tara Chanter.

Pupils began with a lucky dip to select a Tupperware tub, then had to work out how to move exactly 1.5 litres of water between two buckets using only that container by measuring their tub’s volume, calculating the number of trips needed and marking a fill line before starting.

Most groups overshot the target, but the winning team came closest with 1.46 litres transferred into the bucket, putting their knowledge of volume and measurement to the test and rising to the challenge of solving the problem under pressure.
