Transport Reaches New Heights at Prep

Modes of transport have reached new heights at Truro School Prep with the arrival of a campervan and a Merlin helicopter!

On Monday, much to the delight and awe of staff and pupils alike, a Merlin helicopter landed in the school field thanks to RNAF parents and crew, Larry Smith and Will Legge (parents of Evelyn and Matilda).

The UK Royal Navy currently operates a fleet of 54 Merlin helicopters, so to have one visit Truro School Prep was a huge treat. As the mammoth machine made a perfect landing and welcomed pupils in for a closer look, everyone was truly amazed by the sheer size of this incredible helicopter. It was a thrilling and memorable day for everyone lucky enough to spend some time with the crew.

Not to be outdone, our Nursery pupils also welcomed a very special campervan into the Pre-Prep on Tuesday. Having discussed all of the possible ways to travel on adventures, Mr Nixon visited us with Mrs Nixon’s camper van. The pupils asked lots of brilliant questions and imagined camping and having snacks in the camper van.

Thank you to all of our amazing parents who make these experiences possible and help to bring a sense of awe and wonder to our school life.
