Pupils from Truro School Prep recently took part in Songfest 2026, a joyful celebration of singing held at the Hall for Cornwall.
Organised by ASONE Music Hub, the event brought together schools from across Cornwall to perform songs, offering a memorable opportunity for young singers to perform together in a truly special setting.
Reflecting on the experience, Head of Music Ms Angela Renshaw said, “What a day for our Prep School singers at Songfest 2026 in the Hall for Cornwall. Our Year 3 & 4 choir learned and performed a set of eight songs, joining their voices with a hall full of primary schools in a joyful massed celebration of singing.
I had the pleasure of presenting the performance alongside a brilliant live band and wonderful members of the Cornwall Youth Choir, who supported the children throughout.
A huge well done to Hugo (Year 6), whose solo was met with fantastic applause and was a real standout moment. Congratulations to Tom H (Year 6) and Hugo, who performed a beautiful duet with members of Cornwall Youth Choir, showcasing confidence, teamwork and musicianship.
It was a proud day for our young singers and a brilliant celebration of music‑making across Cornwall.”
Our thanks go to Ms Renshaw for her leadership, to ASONE Music Hub for organising such an inspiring event, and to photographer Sean Hurlock for capturing the day.
