The Thursday afternoon DT club has been practising their woodwork skills by making beautiful salt and pepper shakers. Pupils used a hardwood (sapele) and a softwood (pine) and laminated sawn pieces together to create blocks that were hollowed out through drilling. They were finished by shaping, sanding and oiling. These Thursday afterschool sessions allow pupils to try new techniques and practise their skills whilst creating something beautiful and useful to use at home.
