Prep 90th Anniversary Summer Fayre

The Friends of Truro School (FTS) Summer Fayre, this year with a very special 90th anniversary theme, was a joyful day of community and celebration.

In glorious sunshine, the school grounds were filled with families, pupils and staff enjoying a vibrant afternoon of stalls, games and entertainment. The anniversary milestone was woven throughout the fayre, adding a celebratory atmosphere as the community came together to mark 90 years of Truro School Prep.

There was something for everyone to enjoy, from traditional games on the field led by our amazing boarders, bustling stalls, to a range of special activities. A highlight for many was the opportunity to meet the Cornwall Search Dogs, including search dog Freda and mascot terrier Summer, offering pupils a fascinating insight into the important work these highly trained dogs undertake.

Creativity was also at the heart of the celebrations, with the Pre-Prep Silent Auction showcasing a wonderful collection of children’s artwork. Visitors were invited to bid on these unique pieces, helping to raise vital funds for Little Harbour Children’s Hospice while taking home a special memento from the year.

In keeping with the anniversary theme, pupils were invited to take part in a series of “Country Fair Classes”, including designing a 90th birthday card, creating a mini celebration garden, and building imaginative LEGO creations. The entries reflected the enthusiasm and creativity of the children, with prizes awarded for standout designs.

With laughter, music and a strong sense of community spirit throughout, the 90th anniversary FTS Summer Fayre was a resounding success. It was a joyful celebration of Truro School Prep’s past, present and future, and a memorable day for all who attended.
