Pirates of the Curry Bean

The Year 4 production of Pirates of the Curry Bean by Craig Hawes was a triumphant, high-energy performance that wowed the audience from the very start.

The story follows twins, Jack and Liza Periwinkle, who stumble upon a mysterious treasure map, which is then stolen (along with their mother!) by the dastardly Captain Redbeard and his hapless pirate crew of the Curry Bean. Undeterred, the twins set off on a daring rescue mission, helped by the Admiral and his clumsy crew aboard the HMS Crunchy Frog. Their journey takes them across the high seas to the Island of Lumbago in the Sea of Sciatica, where they embark on a quest to outwit the pirates, save their mother, and reclaim the treasure.

What truly set this production apart was the exceptional standard of performance delivered by every pupil on stage. The acting was confident and characterful, the singing full of energy and enthusiasm, and the comic timing impressively sharp. Each child performed with a palpable sense of pride and enjoyment, which made the entire experience a joy to watch. A huge well done to all of our incredible pupils for your courage, confidence and incredible energy.

A special mention must go to Mrs Morse, as this was her final performance before her retirement at the end of the year. Mrs Morse estimates she has been involved in over 40 productions during her career. We will deeply miss her guidance, commitment, creativity and enthusiasm.
