This week, our Year 4 pupils were engaged in a cultural cookery session that celebrated our Cornish heritage by making Cornish pasties in our Truro School Prep Kitchen.
Along with selecting sustainably sourced ingredients, our pupils were challenged to perfect the art of crimping; crucial to avoid unwanted leaks! During the session, our pupils discussed the history of pasties and the importance of using seasonal vegetables and sustainably sourced meat; in this case, chuck steak sourced from a local farm.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the task and produced some ‘ansum pasties to take home.
