Rev Helen has been performing the Nativity for our youngest Prep pupils in the run up to Christmas. The fascinated children were told the story in a group session, where Rev Helen acted out this Christmas story that tells of the conception and birth of Jesus Christ.
Telling the story of Nativity is a Christmas tradition and is central to the celebration of Christmas within the Christian faith. During this festive season our Pre-Prep children have been learning about Christmas traditions and participating in lots of events and activities to enhance their understanding of Christmas and to have lots of fun in the process!
After the performance, pupils were given the opportunity to show their creative side, making their own ‘Nativity in a Box’; with the words Hope, Peace, Joy and Love on the sides, to represent the 4 weeks of advent. Inside their boxes, they have cut out and coloured in the characters of the Nativity so that they can open the box at home and re-tell the story they have learnt to family and friends.
We would like to thank Rev Helen for her time and congratulate our wonderful pupils on their fantastic creations.
