Music Shines at House Music Finals

Truro School’s House Music Finals lit up the Chapel just before half term, as pupils and students delivered a spectacular showcase of musical talent. From powerful rock anthems to intricate piano solos, the evening showcased the immense talent and dedication of Truro School’s musicians.

The competition saw electrifying performances, including a high-energy rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit and the expressive Bagatelle Op.119 No.1 by Beethoven. The Chapel provided the perfect setting for stunning vocal pieces such as God Help the Outcasts and Sea Fever, while the beauty of Greensleeves and the grandeur of Bach’s Sinfonia added to the night’s diverse program.

With such incredible depth of talent, the judges had an exceptionally difficult task in selecting winners. As the evening concluded, adjudicator Pete Truin offered insightful remarks and presented prizes, praising the dedication, artistry, and musicianship of all involved.

The winner was Freddie, with Will runner-up. Special mentions were also given to, Winnie and Thomas, Aidan and Sufi.

A huge thank you to Pete Truin for his expertise and thoughtful adjudication, and congratulations to all performers for making the House Music Finals a celebration of talent, dedication, and house spirit, and a huge thank you to the staff, students, and families who came to support them.
