Inter-Year Concert Adjudication

“It’s been really lovely to see so many wonderful performances. Well done, particularly in what has been a strange year for our schools. It is good to see Truro on great form!”

A huge thank you to Alex Tester, Director of Music at St. Edwards School in Oxford, who kindly adjudicated last term’s inter-year music competition.

Truro School’s Director of Music, Martin Palmer, commented: “It was a great challenge to put together and record 24 performances from all our new Year Group Bands, Choirs and Soloists, however, our pupils and staff did a terrific job in the lead up to last half term and we are really grateful to have such a positive and expert adjudication from Alex Tester. Do listen in!”

The results were:

Solo Pieces

Special Mentions: Ella, 2nd Year and George, Lower Sixth

Winners: Talulla and Gracie, Upper Sixth

Vocal Groups

Special Mentions: Upper Sixth with In the bleak midwinter as this was the hardest piece and Lower Sixth with California Dreaming for the best-balanced piece

Winners: 2^nd Year Boys with A Christmas Blessing for their performance and sensitivity.

Bands

Special Mentions: 3^rd Year Band with St Thomas for the amazing improvision, the 5^th Year Band with Rock Around the Clock for the sheer fun and the Lower Sixth Band with Pirates of the Caribbean for precision and accurate work.

Winners: The very accomplished Upper Sixth Band with Braziliera (soloist Romano Bezzi-Coddetta)
