Mrs Issaka accompanied some of our Year 6 pupils from Truro School Prep to the Truro Foodbank to deliver a vast collection of food donations.
The items, donated during last term’s Christmas advent celebrations, were brought in by staff, pupils and their families. The total gathered amounted to 446.5kg of food, which equates to 745 meals for those in need. A tremendous effort.
Foodbank staff were extremely grateful for the efforts of the school. These meals will help so many people in need this winter.
While at the Foodbank, the Year 6 visitors delved into some of the workings of the Foodbank’s operations. They learned how food is checked in, sorted and stored before visiting the ‘shop’ where clients can select from an approved list based on their needs.
On behalf of the Foodbank, we would like to thank everyone for their donations and for being a part of the spirit that makes Truro School’s community so special.
