Connie Taylor CO95 Receives the 2025 Peacekeeping Award

Connie Taylor née Schneider CO95 has received the 2025 Peacekeeping Award – one of three civilian experts recognised this year for work in international peace missions. The award was presented as part of Germany’s National Day of Peacekeeping, a joint event hosted by the Foreign Office, Defence Ministry, and Interior Ministry to honour the contributions of German peacekeepers – military, police, and civilian alike.

Connie shared: “It was humbling to stand alongside so many colleagues who serve under difficult conditions to promote peace, security, human rights, and democratic governance, representing the more than 170 experts currently deployed via the Centre for International Peace Operations (ZIF). In today’s world, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, and conflict prevention efforts are more necessary than ever – but also under greater scrutiny from taxpayers who rightly ask whether this is money well spent amid many competing priorities. I strongly believe that keeping the peace amongst countries we support, contributes to stability and prosperity at home.”

Connie attended Truro School for Sixth Form as a boarder from Germany (1993-95) before studying Law and German Law at UCL. She is currently Deputy Head of Mission (Kosovo) at OSCE, after working more than 11 years at the United Nations.
