Community News – Mr Rob Murphy

Truro School is very sad to share the news that after a courageous fight over several years against cancer, Mr Rob Murphy, Deputy Head Pastoral at Truro School from 2022 to 2024, died peacefully on 25 August. He was surrounded by family and by love at the end, and throughout this battle.

Rob worked tirelessly, selflessly, and wisely for our community, as a Leader, a teacher, a colleague and a friend. He did this in full knowledge of his own illness until it prevented him being able to commit as he wished to. Amongst his many positive impacts on the School, Rob helped our School values become more central to the life of the School, and he embodied those values both as a person and as a professional.

Rob will be sorely missed by many of us. He leaves Charlotte (Mrs Le Bihan Murphy), his wife, and Clara, his daughter, as ongoing and cherished members of our School family. In due course and guided by his family, the School will share details of how we will permanently recognise Rob’s time and contribution to Truro School. For now, the School family stands with Charlotte and Rob’s family in grief, in gratitude, and in celebration of Rob’s life.
