Pupils and students from Years 11-13 have achieved excellent results in the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad, now in its 58th year. This is a highly demanding national competition, designed to stretch even the most able young chemists, with some questions pitched at degree-level. It provides a valuable opportunity for students to apply their knowledge in unfamiliar contexts and to think creatively and analytically.
This year saw a particularly strong level of participation from Truro School, with many pupils earning well-deserved recognition for their efforts.
Silver Awards were awarded to Thomas W-O, Joseph G and Sarang S.
Bronze Awards were awarded to Alex P, Lise D, Matilda R, Noah B, Tora U, Yuki L, Asher S, Benjamin O, Florence M, Henry P-W, Jamie F, Julia P, Kai R and Lily C.
Congratulations go to all who took part in this impressive academic challenge. Their commitment, curiosity and resilience are a credit to both themselves and the school, which sits within the top 5% of providers for Chemistry nationally*.
