In today’s assembly, pupils learnt about the story of Pentecost. A Christian festival, Pentecost is the birthday of the world Church and celebrates when the holy spirit first came to the disciples.
Retold with twelve volunteer pupils, Rev Helen explained how, following a rushing wind, the disciples saw tongues of fire resting on their heads and were given the ability to speak in different languages. The disciples, filled with the holy Spirit, were then able to share the message of the church around the world.
