A String of Accolades for Victoria

Our heartfelt congratulations to Year 3 pupil Victoria who has just passed her Grade 8 violin and viola exam with distinction. Grade 8 is a huge achievement for anyone, but something usually only achieved by much older musicians.

Victoria has also recently secured a place in the National Children’s Orchestra. Here she will join 650 remarkable young musicians aged 8-14 who have been invited to play in National Symphony Orchestras across the country. She will also participate in other prestigious events and scholarly opportunities whilst there.

If this is not enough, she added further strings to her bow in November when she won the Elizabeth Nettle award for the ‘best promising string player’ at the Camborne Music festival and was awarded the Clifford Higgins memorial cup.

Victoria was also awarded first place in the Junior House Music Finals yesterday evening, after performing two stunning pieces by Tchaikovsky and Vaughan Williams. We look forward to seeing more from this talented musician in the future.
