Supporting Royal Cornwall Hospital Charity

We were delighted to welcome Amy Aucott, Fundraiser for Royal Cornwall Hospital Charity, to Truro School Prep to receive a donation of £636 raised by pupils during their non-uniform day.

Amy was presented with a very large cheque by three members of our newly established Charities Committee: Malhar, Anna and Elodie. After the excitement of the size of the cheque, the committee members impressed Amy with their thoughtful questions about how the funds would be used and how the school might continue to support this important local charity in the future.

The pupils were interested to learn that the money will help support young children and their families who are affected by cancer. Donations may fund special day trips away from the hospital, provide resources for therapy sessions, or contribute towards the refurbishment of much-needed hospital spaces. Every penny raised will help make a meaningful difference to families facing incredibly challenging circumstances.

Amy’s insight and expertise also gave the committee plenty of ideas for future fundraising initiatives, and we look forward to exploring ways in which we can continue to support this wonderful charity that is so close to home.

At the end of the visit, Malhar delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks on behalf of the committee before she, Anna and Elodie returned to their lessons.
