Gabriel from Nigeria

"Boarding at Truro School is like one big family. I integrated into the boarding house quickly, everyone is friendly and I have made many good friendships in such a short time. Boarding Interview

English Version

My name is Gabriel, and I am from Ogun state Nigeria; I am currently in lower sixth at Truro School.

I chose Truro School because of a family friend who attended the school in the 1980s, and he told me Truro School made a significant impact on where he is today. He explained that Truro School would be able to guide me along the right path to a great future. This was the deal-breaker for me enrolling at the school.

I enjoy the sporting aspects of Truro School the most, as the school provides us students with many sporting facilities to choose from, with me spending most of my time on the football pitches or in the gym.

To anyone who is considering Truro School, if you are looking for a school that is keen on helping students develop their skills to be the best they can be and teachers who are willing to provide students with the necessary ability to be successful in their passions, then Truro school is the place to be.

Boarding at Truro School is like one big family; I integrated into the boarding house quickly, everyone is friendly, and I have made many good friendships in such a short time. The weekends involve several activities and trips, giving the boarders time to bond and learn about the variety of cultures away from our home countries.

I would describe lessons as immensely engaging, with classes typically in small numbers, allowing students to receive more individualized attention from teachers who are always keen to help.

I have chosen the University of Edinburgh as my primary destination and plan to study medicine, chemical engineering or civil engineering. With me being in lower sixth, I have not yet applied to any Universities, but I know there will be a lot of opportunities for support from my teachers and specialist staff when that time comes.
