FTS Beach Clean 2026

Families from across the Truro School community came together over the weekend for a fantastic FTS Beach Clean, making the most of the glorious weather and our proximity to Cornwall’s incredible beaches.

The event began with a family picnic at Fistral, where families from the Prep and Senior Schools, alongside boarders and staff, gathered to enjoy the sunshine and surroundings. Once fed, the focus turned to action, as volunteers joined forces with Beach Guardian for the much-anticipated beach clean.

Beach Guardian CIC is a Community Interest Company based in Cornwall, which organises community beach cleans and educational workshops to connect people with the environment to improve the health and well-being of both people and planet.

Working together, the Truro School community collected litter from the shoreline, helping to preserve the natural beauty of the beach while raising awareness of the importance of environmental responsibility.

Thanks go to the Friends of Truro School (FTS) for organising an event that brought together pupils, parents and staff from across the school, to the inspiring team at Beach Guardians and to the Headland Hotel for their generous hospitality and for providing parking for those attending.

The day was a wonderful example of community spirit in action, highlighting how small efforts, when combined, can make a meaningful difference.
