A huge well done to all of the performers who took part in this year’s Cornwall Music Festival, across a wide range of solo, ensemble, and performance groups across voice, piano, strings, woodwind, brass, and music theatre.
Performers included Aiden and Joseph in piano recital and solo classes, Patrick in woodwind solo, and Emilia in recorder sonata. Vocal contributions came from Molly, Roan, Hugo, Jennifer, and Trystan, while instrumental variety was represented by Sarang, Alyssia, Noah, Verity, and Jennifer across piano, brass, and strings. Noah also took part in a particularly broad range of classes, including bowed strings, jazz piano, vocal solo, and music theatre, while Harris also performed in music theatre.
Several students entered multiple categories, demonstrating both versatility and commitment, with Jennifer, Molly, Alyssia, Verity, Hugo, Trystan, and Noah all performing across more than one discipline.
Alongside the solo performances, ensembles made a particularly strong impact. The Pitchforks won their class and were named Outstanding Junior Choir of the Year 2026, also receiving the Woolmington Shield and CMF Cup. The Truro School Vocal Ensemble won the Ronald Grubb Shield, the Junior Strings were awarded the CMF Award, and the Trennick Piano Quartet secured the CMF Trophy. The Truro School Chamber Choir also gave a notable performance in a highly competitive class.
It was a highly successful festival for all involved, reflecting the breadth of talent, dedication, and enthusiasm among Truro School’s young musicians and speakers.
