An Egg-citing Easter at Prep

Led by our school Chaplain, Rev Helen, our pupils at Truro School Prep have been exploring the journey towards Easter.

Dressed as a rooster, a symbol of the moment Peter denied knowing Jesus three times, but also one of hope and forgiveness, Rev Helen led the service in the sunshine on the Pre-Prep playground.

Having learnt about Palm Sunday, the children explored the Easter story from the Last Supper to Easter Morning, with some magical twists and giant coloured eggs to symbolise each step. With chocolate pieces shared by the whole community, Rev Helen led staff and pupils in giving thanks for the goodness of God shown to us through Jesus, with the message, “taste and see that God is good.”

The children also considered the symbolism of the cross, a symbol that can be interpreted as sad, but is seen within the Christian Faith as a symbol of hope. Each pupil was given a Cross of Hope to colour in with rainbow colours to display in their windows at home to allow the sun to shine through and make the colours glow.

A huge thank you to Rev Helen for bringing the Easter message to life in such a magical and memorable way.
