The stage at Truro School Prep was transformed into the Wild West as our talented Year 3 pupils delivered a truly memorable performance of the musical performance Ye-Ha!, written by Craig Hawes. Bursting with energy, humour and toe-tapping numbers, the production was a celebration of creativity and confidence.
Ye-Ha! is a lively, action-packed musical set in Splodge City, where a troublesome gang keeps the townsfolk on edge. When Wilbur is unexpectedly made sheriff, he must overcome his self-doubt and restore order, with a little help from the courageous Billie-Jo. Along the way, secrets are revealed, villains unmasked, and plenty of humour unfolds, before the story concludes in a joyful celebration featuring the spirited ‘Stetson Stomp’ and ‘Ye-Ha Megamix’.
Our Year 3 pupils were nothing short of outstanding. From confident solo performances to enthusiastic ensemble numbers, every child brought commitment and personality to the stage. Their timing, expression and clear enjoyment of the performance shone through, delighting the audience throughout. A huge well done to you all!
Productions like this are an example of how drama thrives at Truro School Prep and forms a vital part of the curriculum. Every year group, from Nursery through to Year 6, has the opportunity to take part in a production each year, helping to build confidence, communication skills and a love of performance.
A huge thank you must go to Mrs Morse for her dedication and guidance in bringing this production to life. We are also incredibly grateful to the many members of staff and the behind-the-scenes crew who worked tirelessly on costumes, staging, music and technical support to ensure the show was such a success.
