Sixth Form Ranked Top in Cornwall

Congratulations to our Sixth Form at Truro School, who have once again ranked top of the official A-Level performance tables for Cornwall.

The newly released 16–18 performance data for 2025 confirms that Truro School is the leading school or college in the county for A-Level progress, achieving the highest progress score in Cornwall and placing in the top 10% nationally in the ALPS rankings.

Outstanding Outcomes for 2025 Leavers

These results reflect the hard work and ambition of our students, supported by dedicated teaching and a strong academic environment. While headline grades are impressive, it is the progress our students make that truly stands out. As this year’s leavers begin their journeys at leading universities, apprenticeships and employment pathways across the UK and beyond, they do so having exceeded expectations and fulfilled their potential.

Being top of the county tables is a significant achievement, but at Truro School, our focus remains firmly on the individual journey of every student. We remain exceptionally proud of each and every one of them.

Congratulations to Truro School Sixth Form on yet another exceptional year.

Note: In the same league table, you may wonder why Truro School does not appear correctly for GCSE results. Truro School, like many leading independent schools, offers a blend of GCSEs and IGCSEs. These qualifications are equal in academic rigour and fully recognised by universities, but because IGCSEs are assessed by international exam boards, the Department for Education does not include them in national performance tables. In 2025, pupils achieved outstanding GCSE and IGCSE outcomes across 22 subjects. More than 500 top grades (9–7) were awarded, over twice the national average, with almost a third of all grades at 9 or 8.
