Two teams of Truro School debaters shone in the South West round of the English Speaking Union Mace competition.
Our brilliant Year 12 team of Tilly R, Flo M, and Jackson P opposed the motion “This House Would Ban Dating and Relationship-Based Reality TV”. Their meticulous preparation, sharp arguments, and confident delivery secured their well-deserved win. They now progress to the next round in January. Good luck!
Meanwhile, George L, Julia P, and Arlo C formed a swing team at short notice, proposing the motion “This House Would Impose a Tourism Tax in Major Cities Facing Over-Tourism”. While they were ineligible to advance as a swing team, their strong performance prevented Blundells from moving forward.
Huge congratulations to both teams, all outstanding Diploma Scholars, for their skill, dedication, and impressive teamwork!
