Children from the Pre-Prep have enjoyed a glorious day of Diwali celebrations, letting their light glow in a special event delivered by School Chaplain Rev Helen.
The morning started with our Nursery and Reception group listening to an interactive story about light, which included the beginning of creation and celebrating all of the good in the world. Every pupil from Nursery to Year 2 also created beautiful Diwali lanterns throughout the day, with older pupils also creating clay tea light holders.
The afternoon shone, with a special assembly and light party full of music and celebration. The Truro School puppet’s rendition of ‘Golden’ by KPop Demon Hunters caused little faces to light up with delight. This was followed by a joyous chorus of ‘This Little Light of Mine’ and ‘My Lighthouse’ before our incredible Year 6 volunteers joined Rev Helen to demonstrate acts of kindness. Everyone enjoyed a dance before the younger pupils shared the wonderful lanterns they had created.
It was a joyous occasion, with lots of smiles and acts of kindness from all the pupils, who certainly let their light shine!
Thank you to Rev Helen for organising this wonderful day. Wishing all of our families that celebrate, a Diwali that brings happiness, prosperity and joy to all.
