Our 2nd years made use of our enviable location in Cornwall as they visited Gwithin Beach to gain practical skills in their Geography studies in coastal processes. They measured beach profile data and completed field sketches, wave counts and longshore drift measurements.
This opportunity enabled them to experience physical fieldwork data collection for the first time. In their subsequent lessons, they have been producing their beach profiles and other data presentations, such as proportional flowlines. This has enabled them to work with the data collected and understand how to present and interpret the processes they have been learning about.
