Yvonne Selected for the Commonwealth Fencing Championships

Yvonne Chart from Upper Sixth has been selected for the Senior England team for the Commonwealth Fencing Championships, taking place in Glasgow in the autumn.

Now ranked 5th in Great Britain at senior level, Yvonne has had an exciting week with this and also her selection for a Senior World Cup competition in Cancun, Mexico. She said: “I didn’t really expect this honour. I knew I’d had a good season but it wasn’t until July when I saw my senior ranking and realised I was within striking distance of the Commonwealths. I worked hard over the summer, and it was so worth it; the Commonwealths and Cancun! I want to thank my coaches, I wouldn’t have achieved any of this without them”.
