Yvonne Accepted into Northwestern University

As part of the new Careers and University provision at Truro School, we are thrilled to announce that Yvonne Chart has been accepted into Northwestern University in the USA. She has been accepted onto an Engineering course which is rated as the 6th best in the world.

With rising university tuition fees in the UK, more and more students are considering their Further Education abroad. This is a remarkable achievement for Yvonne who, whilst going through the rigorous application process to the US, has in the same month been competing for Great Britain in fencing, taking part in her first senior international and has won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships. Yvonne will now have access to excellent fencing training, alongside one of the best degree courses in the world.

A great number of our students are now looking to apply abroad for university. The opportunities overseas are vast and varied, with often lower or no tuition fees as well as the opportunity to combine a top degree with the unique experience of living abroad in a new country, learning about its culture and language. In Europe alone there are over 1500 undergraduate degrees taught in the English language, which makes studying abroad a viable option for many.
