Year 4 Girls’ Hockey v Truro High School

There was a lot of excitement in the air as the Year 4 girls headed off on the minibus to play at Truro High School.

It was a day of firsts – some were playing in their first ever hockey match, while others were playing hockey on an astro pitch for the first time.

We told our three teams to have fun and concentrate on passing to players in space.

Team Ireland had a fantastic time, scoring a sensational eight goals during the afternoon. Lilly, Erin and Flo all scored two goals each. Lucy and Grace both showed good positioning, moving into space to receive passes.

Team Scotland were on good form, scoring three goals against the opposition. Ayesha and Amelia both scored goals. Scarlett’s speed on the ball was very impressive. Clara and Eva showed good passing skills in both of their games.

Team Wales were unlucky not to score – on two separate occasions the ball narrowly missed its target. Jemima and Isabelle showed great determination with their attacking skills. Jessica, Tilly, Nova and Lara all made good progress with their passing skills and game awareness during the afternoon.
