World War One Poppies

On 16 March we took all of the year 5 and 6 pupils to the school memorial at the front of the Prep school and they laid their poppies.  They had each made a clay poppy last term during WWI week, after watching a video of the Tower of London poppies being made in the Derby factory.  They conducted the whole ceremony really well and in silence, and after the poppies had been laid there was a natural silence as we all stood there to reflect.
